In other news, we can all rest easy knowing that the Academy Awards did not fall for the Great Jennifer Aniston Hoax, where she tried to get nominated for supposedly playing a suicidal binge-eater or something in the alleged "indie drama" 'Cake.' The thing is, there is no evidence that this movie exists, except for in the hearts of those who believe in it.
The facts seem to be that a trailer was made and a campaign was run using the strong suggestion tactic. Basically, in ma...king one clip of Jennifer Aniston crying and then making up a bunch of stories surrounding the existence of the movie (There were standing ovations at FESTIVALS!!!), they thought voters would be talked into supporting the movie. When questioned about the fact that it wasn't playing anywhere in the world, the "distributors" could point out that it is an "indie drama" and, as such, will never actually be released.

Not since the devil convinced the world he didn't exist has such a trick ever been almost pulled off.
All of the above is based on the fact that I have not seen 'Cake.'
EDIT: Cake is real! I have seen it! It's a decent enough movie made good by Aniston's actually good performance. I don't think it really was award-worthy, but at the same time I wouldn't have minded an Aniston nomination after all. Mildly recommended.
