Some notes about this week:
--First, I realize now, after only one week of trying to adhere to a schedule on my blog, that I'm not going to be able to keep up with a schedule. That cop-out "Movie I Happened to Watch Last Night" thing I wrote yesterday will probably happen more than I would like. But I will still write new entries in those other specific series as I am available to do so. And hey, if all I write every day are short reviews of whatever I watched the previous night, that's at least seven reviews a week. Since the goal of the schedule was to make myself write more, so long as I write something, I'm happy.
--Speaking of making sure I write things, I'm probably not going to be writing anything either of these next two weekends. Labor Day holiday plans, my birthday, and almost my entire family coming into town for visits will keep me pretty busy. So, apologies, etc.
--My birthday is next Saturday!!! I'm turning 24!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Where has the time flown away to????????????????!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I have a wishlist on Amazon if you wanna buy me something. Just look up Beaux Thomas and it's the one with nothing but blu-rays. No pressure, of course. We can still be friends if you don't buy me movies, just maybe not close friends.
--Dean Jones, star of beloved Disney movies like The Love Bug, That Darn Cat, The Ugly Dachshund, and Million Dollar Duck (And the original lead in the Stephen Sondheim musical Company), passed away a few days ago. He was a big presence in many of my favorite childhood movies and it's always sad to see a great entertainer go.
--Also, Mad Max: Fury Road, the best action movie in a good while and one of the best movies of the year, came out on disc this past Tuesday. You should buy it.
--Also, also, for those in the Pensacola area, the Saenger theater downtown is showing Mel Brooks' amusing classic Young Frankenstein tomorrow night at 7. It's only $5. Go have yourself a time.
Okee-doke, that's it. See ya when I see ya!
